We are pleased to launch our new EOBD-400 oil temperature and RPM measurement device for vehicle emissions testers.
What is the EOBD-400?
The EOBD-400 is our new Oil Temperature, RPM measurement and Diagnostic Interface. The device is an integral part of Boston emissions testing equipment and replaces the earlier model EOBD-300.
What does this mean in terms of cost?
Unlike our previous model, the new EOBD-400 communicates directly with the PC avoiding the requirement for the handheld MGT300EVO and its associated RPM cables and oil temperature probe.
This represents a considerable saving which we are pleased to pass onto customers buying new emissions equipment or looking to purchase an EOBD device (latest SW900iV software required).
What are the benefits of the new EOBD?
The EOBD400 is a far superior device and has been developed to address the shortfalls of other models in the market. Its main features are:
- Robust device with protective neoprene rubber surround
- 30cm extension cable to prevent pin damage on the device itself
- Bright colour lanyard for easy carrying and to help prevent leaving the device in vehicles
- A reminder ‘Remove EOBD device from the vehicle’ has been added at the end of the OPA test in our SW900 iV software (v. 4.4.73+)
- Bluetooth 5 (LE) for long range wireless operation
- Internal neodymium magnet for easy placement and storage
- Can be used as a diagnostic tool
Using the EOBD for Diagnostics
Another useful feature is that the EOBD-400 is unlocked so that 3rd party applications can also be used for diagnostic purposes. Some popular compatible applications which can be used are:
- CARISTA - Audi, VW, BMW, Mini, Nissan, SEAT, Skoda, Toyota, Lexus
- OBDFUSION - Ford, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Nissan
- CAR SCANNER - Audi, VW, SEAT, Skoda, Toyota, Nissan, Kia
